They said I owed it. I didn’t.

Sample matters

How four flat-fee matters ended

One from each kind of trouble we take on, with what the client paid noted beside it.

  • Dismissed

    Collector lawsuit, a store card

A debt buyer sued over a card it could not trace to the client. We filed the answer the week the summons arrived, and the buyer dropped the suit.

    Flat fee, agreed in advance.

  • Removed

    Credit report error

A paid-off loan still showed as past due at two bureaus. Both deleted it after our dispute, with the payoff letter attached.

    Flat fee, agreed in advance.

  • $3,500

    Texts after a written stop

A lender kept texting for months after the client wrote to say stop. It paid to settle once our demand letter listed every message.

    Gross amount, before costs.

  • $2,100

Dealer add-ons in a car loan

Two add-ons were packed into the loan that the client never agreed to. The dealer refunded both and paid the interest on them.

    Gross amount, before costs.

Sample matters for illustration. Every case turns on its own facts, and past results don't promise a similar outcome in yours.

The fee is in your engagement letter before we begin, and it covers the work named there.

    Credit report errors

An account that isn’t yours, a balance that’s wrong or a paid debt still showing.

    • A flat fee for a full dispute package

    What’s included
  • A person in a black sweater taps a smartphone screen

    Robocalls and texts

Calls and texts that keep coming after you asked for them to stop.

    Dealer and car-loan fraud

Add-ons, fees or terms in a car loan that you never agreed to.

    What’s included

Each is a flat fee for the work named. Court filing fees and other costs are separate, and your written agreement says exactly what is included.

After the paper stopped coming

In their words, afterward

“I had a summons on my counter for a week and couldn’t look at it. They had the answer filed in three days, and told me what each step cost before I said yes.”

Trevon B.Collector lawsuit

“The call was on my laptop at lunch. By the end I knew what the bureau got wrong and what it would cost to fix.”

Jarrell P.Credit report errors

“Fifty texts and they kept saying it was a mistake. One letter from a lawyer and the texts ended.”

Isidro M.Unwanted texts

Each client’s case is different. These comments describe those clients’ experiences and don’t promise a similar result.

Before the first call

Questions people ask before they send anything

What does a flat fee cover?

The work named in your engagement letter, for the price on it. If the job turns out bigger, we tell you and you decide. We never bill by the hour behind your back.

I was served with a lawsuit. How long do I have?

The summons says, and the number of days is short. Send it to us the day it arrives. A lawsuit that goes unanswered can end in a judgment against you.

Do I have to pay the debt?

Not until someone proves it’s yours and the amount is right. We check both first, then tell you whether to dispute it, settle it or leave it.

Can you help if I live far from Overland Park?

Yes. We meet by video and handle paper by email, for clients across Kansas. If a court is too far for a flat fee to make sense, we tell you before you pay.

What should I send first?

A photo of the bill, letter or summons. Leave off account numbers and your Social Security number; we’ll ask for what we need once we talk.

Bring the bill, the letter or the summons.

Send a photo of the paper. A lawyer reads it and writes back with what it is and what it would cost to deal with it.
